|Lorraine Potocki was born in Trenton, New Jersey where she received her BA in Fine Art and Education from the College of New Jersey. She works in pastel, acrylic and oil sticks in styles from realistic to abstract expressionism. “I work primarily with soft pastels which allow me to layer rich colors for depth and emotion. With acrylics, I rarely use a brush. Rather, I paint with palette knives and large colour shapers building texture and enjoying the freedom of my strokes.”
Lorraine has exhibited throughout Florida including One Artist shows in Seminole, Tampa and Lakeland. In 2015, her pastel, “Glow”, was juried into the Pastel Society of America’s Enduring Brilliance exhibition in New York. Lorraine’s work has been featured in and on the cover of Tampa Bay Magazine.
